Two years had passed, it seems like it was yesterday. Well, I guess not for everyone so here they are – chroots updated with a list of installed packages inside. As previously you will find both Th and Titanium branches for your convenience. Go ahead, test it, use it and see if it actually works

New STBR address

With a huge help from shadzik and marTi (thanks guys for your support) I’ve been able to move our stbr to a new place. Your requests will be available under http://stbr.pld-users.org/ from now on. Everything else regarding the bot remains unchanged (so far, but I have some plans for it so stay tuned).

New PLD chroots available

Since hawk’s and undefined’s chroots are a bit off sync I decided to step up and make my own home-made chroots based on what you can find in main repositories of PLD Th and Titanium (no -ready, -test stuff).

There are i686 and x86_64 available.

Those are fairly minimal base installs of PLD enhanced with ssh tools and some network goodies such as: netcat, tcpdump, nmap or traceroute.

PLD Th chroot is equipped with 2.6.28-7 kernel and PLD Titanium version has a 2.6.27-19 one. Whole package was prepared on ext3 filesystem (bare that in mind when choosing a different one).

No promises (as always ) but I’ll try to keep them up-to-date (which basically means there will be a new pack once in a month or two).

Any comments are welcome. Please, at least let me know if it works

PLD Th i686 base video install

The previous one had been lost with the old site so I’ve decided to make a new video showing how easily and quickly you can deploy base version of PLD on your (virtual)machine.

Note: you’ll be presented with a bunch of choices during the actual install but accepting defaults should be safe enough to complete the task. This is of course the simplest procedure one can think of. No RAID, LVM or other fancy stuff.

Feel free to add comments as this video is probably far from perfect

I may consider to prepare more advanced tutorials including installing from scratch to full blown desktop (GNOME, KDE) using one of PLD LiveCDs or RCD.

As promised I managed to get my hands on the old site backup and here it some of its most important content .

Picture galleries have been successfully restored and put under the travel-a-lot tab.

You can easily access the category from the top horizontal nav bar.

PLD Titanium stbr logs are now online

Some of you may have already noticed since this was implemented a while ago by PLD wonder team (yes, me included ) but I just wanted to make it clear and official.

For those who have no idea what the heck this is all about please check out stbr site.

What is even more important builder logs are now kept indefinitely (well, as long as there is some space left).

Back from the dead

As some of you might have noticed (probably not, I have no illusions whatsoever ) my site was gone for quite period of time. The server my site was sitting on had been down for a couple of months and I finally run out of patience and decided to move to another, brighter location. Looks cosy and safe so stay tuned.

I’ll try to upload previous content from the backup (which at this moment I don’t have an access to …) as soon as this old server is back online.

Meanwhile say hello to my new looks!
